These Islands launch at Sunspel Marylebone
The team behind the bi-annual international travel and style magazine Cereal launched their first book at Sunspel in Marylebone last night. These Islands is a portrait of the British Isles told through powerful imagery, prose and poetry. It is the first book from Francis – the newly formed publishing house and creative studio by the creators of the magazine – featuring beautiful photography and essays which guide you by casting light on the landscape, study the romance of rain, reflect on the geological history and discuss the wildlife present on these islands.
Guests were greeted with grapefruit gin and tonics and entered the store framed by prints of the photographs and original artwork within the book. These Islands is a book that takes the reader on a journey across the landscape, both natural and urban, that forms the British Isles. It explores the peaks of Snowdonia, the shadows of Glen Coe and the windswept paths of the Wild Atlantic Way. The book was showcased amongst the beautiful Sunspel clothes and aesthetic with huge prints of the Brecon Beacons by Finn Beales, Jurassic Coast photographed by Jonathan Gregson and artwork by Spencer Fung.
The launch also included the most amazing wheel of cheese that the Smith & Baxter team had ever seen. These Islands is published on April 27th and is a truly beautiful snapshot these islands that so many of us call home.
