Freddy Bird and littlefrench appear on Remarkable Places to Eat Christmas Special

tChristmas Eve was enjoyed with a glass of fizz in hand watching BBC2’s Remarkable Places to Eat. Delighted to see my home town of Bristol being featured but an even better Christmas treat was that it featured client Freddy Bird and his restaurant littlefrench.

In the episode food personality Fred Sirieix visits Bristol for a winter treat in the company of old friend and former boss Michel Roux Jr. Bristol is home to one of the UK’s most vibrant and creative food scenes, and Michel can’t wait to show Fred his favourites.

First they visit and have lunch at littlefrench, which looks like goes well on until the evening. An experience I know well! After enjoying the stunning cote de boeuf, Fred goes behind the scenes to discover the secrets of Himalayan dry-aged beef with Freddy’s favourite butcher Buxton’s, while Michel makes aligot with Freddy, known as the best mashed potato in the world and I am counting the hours and days until we can get to the restaurant – just to eat this!
