Hepple Gin wins a Gold Medal

Delighted to say that the Moorland Spirit Company’s Hepple Gin has won its first Gold medal at this year’s San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2016.

More than 1,850 entries were submitted by distilleries from around the world, making it the largest competition in its 16-year history. A panel of thirty-nine international experts, together took part in the four-day blind tasting.

Since its introduction in 2000, the San Francisco World Spirits Competition (SFWSC) has become the most respected and influential spirits competition in the world. Emphasizing integrity and impartiality, the SFWSC takes great pride in ensuring that all entries are treated with equal care and consideration. An SFWSC medal has come to be the most reliable indication of excellence, and those spiits recognized as medal-worthy are understood to be the best the industry has to offer.

Walter Riddell of the Moorland Spirit Company said, “We are thrilled that just a few months after its release our gin has a gold medal at one of the industry’s most prestigious spirits competitions. It is a great honour to have won a top award because the range of exceptional gins from around the world has never been higher.”
