Hoxton Mini Press turns 5!
Hoxton Mini Press is 5 years old. The East London-based, independent publisher has now been making beautiful, playful and affordable photobooks for half a decade.
On Thursday evening Hoxton Mini Press’ biggest fans gathered in Shoreditch to celebrate the occasion with a birthday party thrown by its founders. The event was notably East London themed; serving gin from the East London Liquor Company, craft beer from the Forest Road Brewers, and a birthday cake from East London Bakery Lily Vanilli. The occasion also marked the launch of two of Hoxton Mini Press’ latest publications East London Photo Stories and Berlin Nights.
Co-founder Martin Usbourne made a touching tribute to Joseph Markovitch; the fascinating subject of the first ever Hoxton Mini Press book, I’ve Lived in East London for 86 ½ Years. It was Joseph who inspired the husband and wife team to start an independent publisher for photography which celebrated the diversity and vibrancy of East London. Since then they’ve grown to accommodate a whole host of authors and books that champion great photography from around the world
Smith and Baxter is very proud to have been with Hoxton Mini Press since the beginning. It’s been an absolute please to work alongside the team for the last 5 years and we cannot wait to see the amazing things that Ann, Martin, Faith, Anna and Daniele are going to do next!
