Tim Hayward at Divertimenti
Award winning food writer, restauranteur and broadcaster Tim Hayward was at Divertimenti in Knightsbridge last week signing copies of his critically-acclaimed book Knife. Knife is a love letter to the most treasured of culinary tools and explores the culture, craft and cult of the cook’s blade.
Tim travelled to Divertimenti to sign copies of his book, chat to knife enthusiasts and participate in Divertimenti’s ‘Yaxell Samurai Challenge’ (video to follow) where Tim managed to slice through four (one more than Tom Kerridge!) bottles of water with one of Divertimenti’s sharpest knives. He also brought along his newest purchase – a hand forged Nakiri – from Blenheim Forge, one of the very few British knife makers who specialise in culinary blades and forge their own metal based in Peckham.
Divertimenti is the ultimate cookshop: packed with a huge range of cooking utensils, pots and pans, copper, earthenware, tableware, oriental utensils, cutlery, glassware and – of course – a beautiful array of knives.
You can buy a copy of Knife here.
